Transmitters are programmed to record a location every 15 minutes. In order to reduce the amount of data we’re uploading to the website, we take a single averaged daily location.

In the map below, if you hover over a point or line the ID of the swan will be shown. The layers button under the +/- zoom button in the upper left corner gives the option of choosing other base layers (e.g. OpenStreetMap, Satellite Imagery, etc). From this menu it is also possible to interactively turn on and off the location data for each state. Finally, you can turn on and off the capture locations and the last known locations for all swans in the study.

You can also zoom into a specific region by holding down the shift key and selecting the area you want to view. If you’d like to zoom and center the map on an individual state click on the boxes in the lower right hand corner of the map.

The table below provides date and location data on the collaring of each swan.
